Linguaskill is a quick and convenient online test to help check the English levels of individuals, powered by Artificial Intelligence technology. It tests all four language skills in 3 modules:

Speaking

Duration: 15 minutes

Writing

Duration: 45 minutes

Reading & Listening

Duration: 60-85 minutes

Linguaskill provides accurate results within 4 working days and is easy to take; you can take the test at the ELC learning centre in Monastir, or take it online at home. The Test Report gives results from below A1 to C1 or above, aligned to the international benchmark for describing language ability, the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), and reports scores from 82 to 180 on the Cambridge English Scale.


Linguaskill is distributed through Cambridge’s network of authorised agents who run and administer the test, and ELC Group is the first and only authorised Linguaskill agent in Tunisia.

Linguaskill is a quick and convenient online test to help check the English levels of individuals, powered by Artificial Intelligence technology. It tests all four language skills - speaking, writing, reading and listening.

Anyone aged 14+ who wants or needs to verify their level of competence in the English language. Your Linguaskill test results will tell you your internationally recognised CEFR level and your score on the Cambridge English Scale.

Anyone aged 14+ can take Linguaskill. If you are aged 14-18, please contact ELC to discuss special test arrangements.


If you choose to take Linguaskill online from your home, an AI program will monitor you throughout the test, acting as a test invigilator. The AI program will then compile a report confirming that you adhered to the Linguaskill Rules & Regulations and that it was you who took the test without any additional help.

Linguaskill from Cambridge has been developed by a dedicated team of experts and has been trialled by speakers of over 40 languages from 50 countries to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the results.

The Linguaskill test combines the latest technology with the reliability and quality you expect from Cambridge English.

The Reading and Listening module is adaptive, which means that questions become easier or more difficult depending on an individual’s previous answer. As a result, every candidate receives a unique version of the test tailored to their ability level. This means that the test is suitable for all abilities and offers a personalised experience.

If you choose to take Linguaskill online, you can take it anytime you choose, day or night, within 60 days of purchase. 

If you choose to take Linguaskill at the ELC Learning Centre in Monastir, you can take your test on Saturdays or Thursdays and must book an appointment online when you purchase your test. Find out more.

You will receive your results within four business days.

Your Test Report will be emailed to you as a PDF which you can print and share as often as you wish.

We recommend taking the Linguaskill Online Course from Cambridge English, available to purchase through the ELC website, before you take the Linguaskill test.
